How is the bed built?
This Maria Montessori bed has solid wooden slats and measures 165 x 98 x 165 centimetres. The slatted base is included in the delivery. The VitaliSpa Haus bed resembles a teepee, or Indian bed, thanks to the four slats that rise upwards and are joined together crosswise at the top. This means that the bed can be used in a wide variety of ways. This Maria Montessori bed gives children plenty of scope to let their imaginations run wild. The slats at the top to form a teepee can be covered with fabric or simply with a string of lights.
The fabric strips can also be used to create a sort of grotto. A canopy can also be installed. And children generally feel good in caves. They are seen as a place of retreat, just like sleep itself. This Maria Montessori bed also has low legs. This means that the VitaliSpa Haus bed is almost level, i.e. very low. This teepee bed is Scandinavian in style and, thanks to its shape and naturalness, allows the bed to be combined with different furniture or furniture styles.

Features and characteristics
The special feature of the VitaliSpa Maison bed lies in the materials used. The wood used here is lacquered, and its shape offers a wide range of design possibilities. Although the bumper is not very high, it offers effective protection to prevent children from falling out of bed, even if they turn over a lot during the night. The frame has an opening at the height of the headboard, so that the child can get in and out of bed alone.
What is the bed made of?
The wood used for this Maria Montessori bed is polished alder or aspen. The varnish is an ecological protective wax. If you wish, the Indian bed can also be painted in colour with a water-based paint. This crib is available in five varnish colours.
Who is this bed suitable for?
This Maria Montessori bed is suitable for children weighing no more than 150 kilos. This is the maximum weight the bed base can support. As the bed is quite large, we recommend using it from around 6 years of age. That way, your child won’t feel lost in this fairly large bed.
Other manufacturers
There are, of course, a few alternative manufacturers of this type of bed. But when it comes to the durability of this Maria Montessori bed, it’s already one of a kind.
The ALCUBE or NeedSleep are two interesting alternatives.
Information about the manufacturer
There are several manufacturers who produce a bed similar to Maria Montessori’s teaching method. However, Duraß holds the patent for this bed and manufactures all versions. This is a bed that can be used in a very versatile way, i.e. over a long period depending on the age of the children. The durability of this bed is, of course, excellent.
